Plymouth grew up around Hollydale,
and the City and owners of Hollydale forged a relationship that benefited both. The golf course provided a wonderful amenity for the residents of Plymouth, and the City provided a growing market of golfers for the golf business. The working relationship between the parties seemed good. As Plymouth grew, Hollydale's owners were involved in many of the City's decisions that might affect the golf course, and the City supported the golf course by waiving sewer assessments and making accommodations to control the persistent flooding and drainage problems on the course.
